Friends of St. Patrick -
It’s finally here (again)! Due to the storms last time around, our rescheduled St. Patrick festival with Fr. Tom is back and better than ever this Saturday March 29th with a vigil starting at 5:00.
This weekend we reach the fourth Sunday of Great Lent: St. John Climacus (St. John of the Ladder), a spiritual giant whose writings have been read in monasteries around the world during Great Lent for over a thousand years —
This week’s dinner theme is LENTEN FISH FRY - wine and oil are allowed. St. Patrick supplies the fish; everyone else please bring enough fast-friendly foods for you and yours plus two guests. Thank you for all you do to make these meals happen!
Catechism class won’t happen this week due to the early service start time.
Great Lent resources: Please see the page attached above this message for a summary of each week’s theme and the saints and events we commemorate. In addition to that, friend of the mission Rdr. Bruce McPherson has created a set of resources for Preparing our Hearts for Lent (which was the title of his talk at St. Patrick last year). You can find those resources here: https://stjohnwonderworker.org/pre-lent-highlights/ and a video of his talk here: https://stpatrickcarrollton.com/links
Our next bookstore order is in process and we expect to have a few new titles in soon - keep an eye out!
Have a great week and we pray we'll see you Saturday for the Vigil at 5:00!
