Dear Friends of St. Patrick -
Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a great time together for our annual Akathist “Glory to God for All Things” and Friendsgiving meal last Saturday - and thanks to all who brought so many guests! This weekend we look forward to Great Vespers commemorating the Holy Prophet Nahum:

We celebrate the memory / of Your prophet Nahum, O Lord; / through him we entreat You, / save our souls.
Enlightened by the Spirit, your pure heart became the dwelling place of most splendid prophecy; / for you saw things far off as if they were near. / Therefore, we honor you, blessed and glorious Prophet Nahum.
To everyone interested in our catechism classes: we're up and running every week, including this Saturday at 5:00. Please stay on top of your assigned reading easily accessible at https://www.oca.org/orthodoxy/the-orthodox-faith so we can use our time in class as wisely as possible and maximize time for open discussion. Anybody wishing to be a catechumen with an eye toward being officially received into the church should be attending the classes regularly and attending a liturgy at whatever OCA parish you are able to get to, preferably weekly.
Support your local team! Our parish bookstore is officially *open* and we have several titles available. Nourish your mind with the Orthodox Study Bible as well as excellent offerings from several highly-respected Orthodox authors. If you're looking for a particular book, let us know and we'll include it in our next order.
The meal theme for Saturday will be “LENTENTASTIC” - that is, generally vegan except that fish, wine, and oil are permitted this week. Everyone bring something to
share :)
Don’t forget our celebration of St. Nicholas is just around the corner December 7th. There’ll be games, music, crafts, and a Christmas carol singalong - please plan to bring the kids!
Have a great week and we'll see you Saturday with catechism at 5:00 and Great Vespers at 6:00!
