About Us

Who Are We?

Saint Patrick Orthodox Mission is a mission effort in Carrollton, Georgia, under the Orthodox Church in America’s Diocese of the South, the Most Reverend Archbishop Alexander. Here at St. Patrick we are the nearest Orthodox parish to Carrollton, Villa Rica, Bowdon, Bremen, Roopville, Whitesburg, and parts of Douglasville and northeast Alabama.

The Orthodox Church in America (OCA) traces its origins to the arrival in Kodiak, Alaska of eight Orthodox missionaries from the Valaamo Monastery in the northern Karelia region of Russia in 1794. The missionaries made a great impact on the native Alaskan population and were responsible for bringing many to the Orthodox Christian faith.  Today, the OCA numbers some 700 parishes, missions, communities, monasteries, and institutions throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Please join us in the nave at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church on Saturday evenings at 6:00 PM.
